  • We can offer symmetric broadband

The term ‘symmetric’ means that, for maximum performance, you can always upload data at the same speed that you can download data. This is unlike ADSL, which you may have heard of, where upload speeds are usually much slower than download speeds. Symmetric broadband is great for online applications like VoIP, online gaming and video conferencing as well as for small office or home office (SOHO) applications and we make it available to you at home. Unlike the others who reserve it for use as part of their much more expensive services they offer to big business.

  • We can reach more people with our wireless WiMAX network

Allegro's high speed, fixed wireless, WiMAX network delivers symmetrical broadband to residential customers at speeds up to 1 Mbps. Our coverage allows us to get to places that ADSL cannot; throughout Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, the Gold Coast, and surrounding areas of South East Queensland.

  • We can offer higher speeds at lower cost

Our residential customers can connect to broadband at speeds of up to 1.5 Mbps at rates less than what others charge for slower connections.

  • We let you create a broadband plan to suit you

Create a broadband plan to suit you. Select from:

    • a range of speeds from 512 kbps up to 1.5 Mbps
    • contract terms of one, two or three years
    • limited or unlimited data download allocations

  • We include 3 email accounts plus spam and virus filtering

When you sign up for a broadband service with Allegro we include 3 email accounts with FREE spam and virus filtering.

  • We’re not just an internet company we’re a phone company too

Sign up for our Residential Voice product along with your residential broadband service and you can make calls over the internet using a regular phone. This is a great way to save on phone calls.

If you live in a building where Allegro Services are already available that’s a ‘Smart Building’

Allegro has already connected a network of buildings to its high speed fixed wireless network and is connecting more buildings every day. Once we connect a building we say that it is ‘Smart Building’. If you live in such an Smart Building building our Smart Building symmetric broadband services will be the best for you.

For full details, including costs and to apply, download the Residential Symmetric Broadband application form, fill it in and fax it back to us using the number on the form. Make sure you select an ‘Smart Building’ option when filling in the Setup part of the form.


If you cannot get ADSL broadband where you live or you would prefer a high performance symmetric service

If you live within our coverage area (throughout Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, the Gold Coast, and surrounding areas of South East Queensland) then chances are you will be able to get broadband delivered via our high speed, fixed wireless, WiMAX network, even if you can’t get ADSL. To find out for sure you will need to apply.

Because there is no existing Allegro equipment at your place of residence we will need to install it for you. We call this type of service ‘Standard Symmetric Broadband’.

If you live outside our wireless network coverage area

Perhaps you live in an area outside the coverage area of our wireless network but can get ADSL. In that case our ADSL broadband product will be the right one for you. Not sure whether you can get ADSL? Apply anyway and we’ll let you know.

If you would like a telephone service too

Once you have broadband, save on phone calls by signing up for our phone service too. That’s right. We’re not just an internet company. We’re also a broadband phone company and one that owns its own network to boot.

When you upgrade to Residential Voice there is no need to upgrade your phones as you can use your existing ones. You might also choose to keep your existing phone line for back up or so that others can call you on your existing phone number. Alternatively, obtain a new phone number from us, cancel your existing line and save on line rental!

Note: Calls are VoIP quality. Our customers accept that the call quality can vary.

How much does Residential Voice cost?

What is a Smart Building?

Allegro’s Smart Building solution offers participating commercial buildings, shopping centres and business parks the next generation of high speed broadband. Allegro has connected a network of Smart Buildings to its high speed fixed wireless network. Offices, shops and factories in an Allegro Smart Building can connect to 1mbps and 2mbps symmetric broadband, bursting to 8mbps, at rates less than what others charge for slower connections. “Bursting” means you get the higher rate when transacting online and downloading small files.

Unlike ADSL services offered by other service providers, where upload speeds are much slower than download speeds, Allegro’s Smart Building broadband offers full duplex, providing the same upload and download speed for maximum performance. This is critical for today’s online business applications and for optimal productivity. Allegro’s Smart Buildings employ WiMAX ready wireless technologies to connect buildings and industry leading VDSL (Very High Speed DSL, much faster than ADSL) or ethernet solutions in-building.

  • All services are provided using AAPT DSL Services
  • Installation fee DOES NOT include ADSL Modem. (Modem can be purchased at additional cost)
  • Installation may take up to 21 working days.
  • A single static public IP address is supplied with each connection.
  • The customer is responsible for all data delivered to the address(es) allocated to them.
  • Unlimited plans may be reduced in speed in the users consumption exceeds 20 GB per month.
  • Allegro recommends that a firewall appliance is installed between your network, and the public internet.
  • Allegro Networks supports only a single PC connected to the ADSL service. As such, responsibility for connection to the customer network, maintenance and installation of firewalls, modems and other customer owned devices lies entirely with the customer.
