What is VoIP?

VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is the technology used to make telephone calls over the Internet. Using a VoIP Service and a fast Internet connection you can make cheap phone calls anywhere.

Does my computer need to be switched on to make calls?

No it doesn’t. But of course your network router does.

What is the sound quality like?

The sound quality of a VoIP based call is usually comparable to that of a standard call.

That said the quality of a VoIP based call can be affected by the speed (up & down) of your internet connection.

Do I need a standard phone line?

No, you don’t require one to use our VoIP service unless you are on ADSL broadband.

Unlike many VoIP providers we literally own our network so we connect your residence or place of business without the use of standard phone lines.

However, you are welcome to keep your standard phone line around to use as a backup if you so choose.

Can I make international calls?

Yes, of course! You can view our pricing here.

Can I use my computer and make calls simultaneously?

Sure! No problem.

All prices are inclusive of GST. Timed calls are charged on 1 second increments and minimum charge of 10 cents per call applies. Prices apply 24 hours a day and may change from time to time. Latest call prices are available at www.allegro.com.au. Monthly line rental prices are conditional upon subscribing to an Allegro broadband service. All services require an approved CPE device, which are available from Allegro. Set up charges of $0 for 24 months, $55 for 12 months and $99 for no contract. Savings vary from provider to provider.
