Noosa Clever Networks

projects imageThe Noosa Clever Network WiMAX network infrastructure, built by Allegro, is proving to be a major boost for business, education, tourism, government and medical sectors in the Noosa Shire region.

The Federal Government, through its Clever Networks Program, provided funding of $1.27 million for the project, with the balance of $1.17 million being contributed by Allegro, and its project partners, the Noosa Shire Council, and Mach Technology.

Taken together with the Maroochy Clever Network covering Maroochy Shire, new generation broadband services are now available across the breadth of the Sunshine Coast.

According to Joint Managing Director of Allegro Networks, David Waldie, "The Clever Networks Project provides customers with business grade broadband using next generation WiMAX technology enabling hi speed connectivity for internet, voice, data and other applications"

"We'll also be hooking up fibre optic cable connections to the newly planned Library at Cooroy and the planned Carpenters Lane and Nandroya developments.

"Once established, this will truly be a next generation network and because it is wireless and fibre optic, it does not rely on outdated copper telephone infrastructure". Mr Waldie said.

Allegro’s Noosa Clever Network is a WiMAX network made up of two wireless base stations, which are strategically located at vantage points across the Noosa Shire. Allegro’s technology partner in the project is Israel-based Alvarion, a world class supplier of WiMAX equipment.

Allegro supplements its WiMAX capability in the Shire with very high speed microwave solutions, for large corporate and government applications allowing speeds from 1 Mbps/1 Mbps to 40 Mbps/40 Mbps to be delivered.

Maroochy Clever Networks

projects imageAllegro Networks has deployed its world class WiMAX technology to establish the Maroochy Clever Network, next generation broadband network infrastructure. This is located in the Maroochy Shire, on the Sunshine Coast.

The Maroochy Clever Network WiMAX network infrastructure is already proving to be a major boost for business, education, health and government sectors in the Maroochy Shire.

The Federal Government, through its Clever Networks Program, provided funding of $2.9 million to the project. The balance of $3.4 million was contributed by Allegro, its project partners, the Sunshine Coast University and Maroochy Shire Council and contributing partners including Caloundra Shire Council.

Allegro joint Managing Director, David Waldie, has described the broadband infrastructure as critical to the development and growth of commerce in Maroochy Shire and surrounding districts.

“Local businesses, universities, hospitals – they need this technology now – not in three years, not in five years but - now,” Mr Waldie said.

“Previously, they were putt-putting along the information superhighway in the equivalent of an old VW Kombi. Now, with our WiMAX network up and running, they have access to the broadband equivalent of a red Ferrari.”

Allegro’s Maroochy Clever Network WiMAX network comprises five wireless base stations, which are strategically located at vantage points across the Maroochy and Caloundra Shires. Allegro’s technology partner in the project is Israel based Alvarion, a world class supplier of WiMAX equipment.

Allegro supplements its WiMAX capability in the Shire with very high speed microwave solutions, for large corporate and government applications allowing speeds from 1 Mbps/1 Mbps to 40 Mbps/40 Mbps to be delivered.

TradeCoast Central

projects imageBrisbane’s new industrial and commercial park TradeCoast Central has reached a landmark agreement with emerging Queensland telecommunications carrier, Allegro Networks, and the world’s third largest IT services company, Fujitsu, to establish a world class telecommunications network at the $1 billion development.

The next generation network will feature a combination of optical fibre and WiMAX networking technologies. WiMAX is a telecommunications technology aimed at providing wireless data over long distances, from point-to-point links to full mobile cellular type access.

The network incorporates significant redundant paths to ensure exceptional reliability and availability while delivering high speed data access from Australia and worldwide.

The advanced capabilities of the network are proving to be a major attraction for companies moving to the 150ha old Brisbane airport site at Eagle Farm.

Allegro Networks Managing Director David Waldie said business tenants would have unprecedented capacity and quality of broadband service as well as flexibility in the choice of carrier.

“Traditionally, the incumbent phone company has owned the network, leaving business users with little choice in what network they used to meet their telecommunication requirements,” Mr Waldie said.

“At TradeCoast Central, businesses will not only have a choice of the road they take, but also the speed at which they travel. The capacity served up by Fujitsu’s fibre optic, Cisco powered Metro Ethernet network, will deliver speeds into Gigabytes if required.”

TradeCoast Central Managing Director Bob Tucker said firms trading in the national and international markets needed and expected world-standard telecommunications.

“Historically, businesses have been left to make their own arrangements after they take up residency, but all telecommunications infrastructure has been considered and incorporated into TradeCoast Central during construction,” Mr Tucker said.
